I LEAVE FOR GUATEMALA TOMORROW! I am so incredibly thankful for this opportunity! Up until now I've still be trekking along in Columbia. I got to go to STL for a long 4th of July weekend though! I've even knocked a couple things off my bucket list!

 Nick & I have been dating for 10 months!!! I can't believe I've been in college that long! 



& finally, packing for Guatemala. It was an all day event. I bought that duffel bag at Aldi's for $16 and it rolls! Such a bargain.


I am so excited for my huge adventure to start!!! I've been paired up with a girl named Maddie who went on this same trip last year! It'll be fun!!  I'll be going home to Owasso on July 23rd & seeing my friends' band (the lead singer is the guy with the glasses from the pictures above) open for the Plain White T's in STL! I'll post an update on my trip around the end of July. (:

sometimes you sit alone, in a hot room with bugs crawling on the walls and think to yourself what in sam heck am i doing here??? you might find yourself feeling alone and sweaty and just wanting to go to bed, but alas, it's only 7pm and you probably couldn't fall asleep yet anyways. so when i turned on spotify and one of my favorite songs came on singing the lyrics: "Hallelujah! a update to my last blog

in my last blog post i wrote about how as Christians we're called to follow Christ no matter the cost.  i wrote a little on this passage: The Cost of Following Jesus: Luke 9:57-62 57  As they were going  along the road,  someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”   58  And Jesus said to him,  “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”   59  To another he said,  “Follow me.”  But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60  And Jesus [ g ]  said to him,  “Leave  the dead to bury their own dead. trees will clap

https://soundcloud.com/crossingsongs/trees-will-clap-live (^^^ LISTEN ^^^) i've always loved the song, Trees Will Clap, that we sing at the Crossing. it's super catchy and you can't help but tap your foot and smile when you sing it. it's based off the the following verse:  Isaiah 55:12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. when we sang it at church today though, something was different. God placed vivid imagery in my mind that i can't help but share. open the song in a new tab, press play, close your eyes (after you read), and imagine this: (but really, play the song while you read this or it'll be a little hard to grasp) you're on a harbor (in alaska of course) and you're surrounded by gorgeous pine and spruce trees. there are eagles soaring and the snow capped mountains stretch for miles. t
