the time has come

"The time has come," the Walrus said,

Well friends, there is PLENTY to talk about. I just finished up my sophomore of college at the University of Missouri - aka the best college ever. This year was all kinds of crazy & definitely full of adventure! As y'all know, I don't blog. I'm awful. I'm inconsistent. I am not a journalist & I give mad props to those who are. But, for the duration of this summer. I am going to try my absolute best to update this blog weekly! 

I'm going to Alaska for the entire summer on a Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) Summer Project. I'll be in Juneau spending my summer working for a whale watching company and evangelizing! I'm for realz pumped. God has so much in store for us & I couldn't be more excited or terrified!! I fly out May 27th and I will return just in time for recruitment on August 4th. This blog might only be pictures with some sporadic captions - but hey, it's something!

I traveled to the Dominican Republic with Mizzou Alternative Breaks and taught English to sweet kiddos like Carlos.



Columbia had a blizzard!! Holla @ snow days!!! 



I participated in Dance Marathon for my second year in a row & fell in love with the organization all over again. 


My roommate, Alyssa, and I ice skated  on campus in 90 degree heat. That night, Mizzou gave out free snowcones and played Frozen on a big blow up screen. Just another reason why Mizzou is the best.

Well, obviously lots more went on besides those few pictures. Let's just say this year was one for the books. The good memories most definitely outweigh the bad & for that I am so thankful. God has provided time and again and I am blessed by His sovereignty.

sometimes you sit alone, in a hot room with bugs crawling on the walls and think to yourself what in sam heck am i doing here??? you might find yourself feeling alone and sweaty and just wanting to go to bed, but alas, it's only 7pm and you probably couldn't fall asleep yet anyways. so when i turned on spotify and one of my favorite songs came on singing the lyrics: "Hallelujah! a update to my last blog

in my last blog post i wrote about how as Christians we're called to follow Christ no matter the cost.  i wrote a little on this passage: The Cost of Following Jesus: Luke 9:57-62 57  As they were going  along the road,  someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”   58  And Jesus said to him,  “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”   59  To another he said,  “Follow me.”  But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60  And Jesus [ g ]  said to him,  “Leave  the dead to bury their own dead. trees will clap

https://soundcloud.com/crossingsongs/trees-will-clap-live (^^^ LISTEN ^^^) i've always loved the song, Trees Will Clap, that we sing at the Crossing. it's super catchy and you can't help but tap your foot and smile when you sing it. it's based off the the following verse:  Isaiah 55:12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. when we sang it at church today though, something was different. God placed vivid imagery in my mind that i can't help but share. open the song in a new tab, press play, close your eyes (after you read), and imagine this: (but really, play the song while you read this or it'll be a little hard to grasp) you're on a harbor (in alaska of course) and you're surrounded by gorgeous pine and spruce trees. there are eagles soaring and the snow capped mountains stretch for miles. t
