adventure

I long for adventure. Every day of my life I dream of doing wild and crazy and adventurous things. I want to zipline through every rainforest I can. I want to go to Africa and make a difference. I want to sing on stage and be a famous ballerina. I wish to skydive and parasail and crash a wedding. I don't want life to be boring. I don't want to sit in an office. I want to be out in the world tackling impossible things. I want to soar with the eagles and gain my own wings. I want people to think I'm crazy and question my every action. I want the thrill of adrenaline rushing through my veins. I long to live a life of purpose, promise, and excitement. This blog will be just that - a documentary of my adventures, big and small. Anything can be an adventure if you let it be. Here goes nothing (:

All I Have is Christ

sometimes you sit alone, in a hot room with bugs crawling on the walls and think to yourself what in sam heck am i doing here??? you might find yourself feeling alone and sweaty and just wanting to go to bed, but alas, it's only 7pm and you probably couldn't fall asleep yet anyways. so when i turned on spotify and one of my favorite songs came on singing the lyrics: "Hallelujah! a update to my last blog

in my last blog post i wrote about how as Christians we're called to follow Christ no matter the cost.  i wrote a little on this passage: The Cost of Following Jesus: Luke 9:57-62 57  As they were going  along the road,  someone said to him, “I will follow you wherever you go.”   58  And Jesus said to him,  “Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”   59  To another he said,  “Follow me.”  But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” 60  And Jesus [ g ]  said to him,  “Leave  the dead to bury their own dead. trees will clap

https://soundcloud.com/crossingsongs/trees-will-clap-live (^^^ LISTEN ^^^) i've always loved the song, Trees Will Clap, that we sing at the Crossing. it's super catchy and you can't help but tap your foot and smile when you sing it. it's based off the the following verse:  Isaiah 55:12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. when we sang it at church today though, something was different. God placed vivid imagery in my mind that i can't help but share. open the song in a new tab, press play, close your eyes (after you read), and imagine this: (but really, play the song while you read this or it'll be a little hard to grasp) you're on a harbor (in alaska of course) and you're surrounded by gorgeous pine and spruce trees. there are eagles soaring and the snow capped mountains stretch for miles. t
